About Disinfecting

We recommend focusing upon all high-touch surfaces, including items like door handles, switches, office phones, counters, chairs, keyboards and mice, and furniture. This list will be customized based upon your line of business and workflows.

Store-bought disinfectants aren’t as effective as the hospital-grade disinfectant used by A Safer Surface. Our disinfectant kills over 99.999% of pathogens, as opposed to the claim of up to 99.9% of store disinfectants (actually a 100x difference). The disinfectant application process is as important as the disinfectant itself. Together, these provide unparalleled protection.

Dwell time is the time it takes an applied product to sit on a surface to effectively disinfect that surface. This is critical for any disinfectant you use, including materials used by A Safer Surface. Our Disinfect and Protect services apply a thin, effective layer that dries without wiping, so dwell time is always achieved.

With this application, electrostatically charged particles of disinfectant are magnetically attracted to and wrap around surfaces with a strong bond. This provides complete coverage with sufficient volume to enable the appropriate dwell time.

While a fogger can dispense a disinfectant, it does not provide the even, reliable coverage of an electrostatic sprayer. Often, the foggers lack an electrostatic charge to help surface bonding and wrap-around coverage. Additionally, foggers usually apply smaller particles of disinfectant, resulting in insufficient dwell time.

The current strain of coronavirus (Covid-19) can be spread by touching a contaminated surface and then touching your faces, eyes, nose, or mouth.

CDC guidelines recommend sending that individual home and notifying everyone who came into contact with that individual to self-quarantine for two weeks. To effectively disinfect and protect your work area, please email, call, or fill out the online form for more information so we can help.

About A Safer Surface

DISINFECT — We disinfect and protect surfaces with advanced application methods to kill at least 99.999% of bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungi.

PROTECT — We help remediate and control surface-damaging and odor-causing mildew, mold, bacteria, and algae for up to 90 days.

AIR QUALITY — We can provide advanced air filtration equipment that can eliminate 99.97% of particles as small as 0.1 microns (Covid-19 has an average size of 0.125 microns).

Disinfect applies a disinfectant that kills at least 99.999% of pathogens on your surfaces and needs to be re-applied frequently to maintain a safer surface. This surface disinfection is temporary and can get reinfected thereafter.

Protect includes the disinfectant from the Disinfect service plus an additional Protect product that remediates and controls surface damaging and odor-causing mildew, mold, bacteria, and algae for up to 90 days. While not designated as a disinfectant by the EPA in the United States, it has been approved as such by regulatory bodies in other countries.

Many other companies use harsh chemicals with toxic fumes that are sprayed on and wiped off and generally last a short time before needing to be reapplied. Many of these types of disinfectants rely on a chemical reaction that can lead to a resistant superbug and could harm the environment. A Safer Surface is committed to only using materials that are highly effective, non-toxic, and minimize the risk of creating a superbug.

Additionally, our electrostatic sprayers ensure better coverage with enhanced adherence to surfaces. We also have options that can help protect surfaces for up to 90 days and highly-effective air purification treatment.

There are many options to pursue the disinfection of your business. While A Safer Surface can do a single disinfection treatment, we desire to partner with our customers to maintain a safer environment. We want to implement a treatment plan to keep your site safe in an on-going effort. Beyond the treatment, we also provide marketing tools and support to help promote your business as maintaining a safer environment.

The purpose of scheduled disinfection is to not only disinfect but to maintain a safe environment. By reapplying the Disinfect or Protect process on a schedule, you will be more confident of having safer surfaces.

The pricing is based upon the size and frequency of the area to be treated. Please visit our contact page for more information.

We have partnered with a leading company integrating NASA-based technology to provide air filtration that exceeds the level of most HEPA-based solutions and utilize an advanced system to proactively convert moisture in the air into safe, disinfecting agents that are output into the surrounding environment.

Absolutely! All high-touch vehicle surfaces can be disinfected and protected.

Emergency service is available, but normal timing depends on pre-existing scheduled work. We will work to accommodate your needs as quickly as possible.

A Safer Surface wants to help you promote your efforts to protect your staff and customers. To support this, we provide a certification window cling for the window or door of your business. In addition, we will provide a certificate to place in a conspicuous location at your business such as a lobby, reception area, or by a major point of ingress. Both of these items reference our web site where customers learn more about the significance of the certification.

Multiple academic studies have proven the effectiveness and claims of the disinfectant manufacturer. These studies can be shared upon request.

Think of the Protect service like a thin, clear coat of paint to physically protect surfaces from surface-damaging, odor-causing bacteria, fungi, and mold for up to 90 days. Essentially, this material bonds with the surface to project microscopic spikes that impale and inactivate the pathogens. Outside the United States, many other countries have reviewed and approved this product as a disinfectant, which is why A Safer Surface applies a disinfectant first and then the Protect product.

All of our services are backed by science to ensure optimal and effective treatment approaches. We will not support or utilize any product or equipment that does not have scientific evidence to support it.

About Advanced Proactive Air Purification

According to the CDC: “Airborne transmission [of SARS-CoV-2] is infection spread through exposure to those virus-containing respiratory droplets comprised of smaller droplets and particles that can remain suspended in the air over long distances (usually greater than 6 feet) and time (typically hours).”  It is generally recognized today that the major transmissibility risk of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is airborne aerosols.

A HEPA filter can filter airflow down to 0.3 microns but is only reactive as it can only filter air flowing through the filter.  Alternatively, our air purifiers are proactive through the process of photocatalytic oxidation which actively produces scavenger oxidizers that sanitize the air continuously.  We also offer the option of combining HEPA filtration with scavenger oxidizers.  This is not an ozone producer which can be detrimental to health.  This technology has been proven to kill 99.9999% of RNA viruses in the air.

Testing data conducted by an independent FDA-compliant laboratory, MRIGlobal, established a 99.98% surface kill rate of live SARS-CoV-2 virus in just 7 hours.  Our air sanitization solutions offer an airborne kill rate of 99% of viruses with the exact percentage still being determined by ongoing independent testing.

We have partnered with a leading company integrating NASA-based technology to provide air filtration that exceeds the level of most HEPA-based solutions and utilizes an advanced system to proactively convert moisture in the air into safe, disinfecting agents that are output into the surrounding environment.  You can read more about how this technology works and the scientifically proven benefits at www.ActivePure.com

While these air purifiers are very effective in helping protect the air from virus and bacteria, it also extends the benefit to surfaces.  The purifiers emit oxidizers which are proven to kill 99.98% of Covid-19 on surfaces.

About Our Treatment Process

Yes. All products used by A Safer Surface are nontoxic and give off no fumes once applied.

Out of an abundance of caution, all PPE is primarily worn to protect the technician from the environment, especially in the age of Covid-19.

While a single application can be done, it offers a short-term benefit that erodes as surfaces are touched and used. It is recommended to pursue a regular disinfection schedule or to consider the Protect service.

Clinical studies show our Disinfect product as being at least 99.999% effective at killing both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, viruses (including Covid-19), mold, and fungi.

Our Disinfect service disinfects at least 99.999% of pathogens with some residual benefit, depending on activity around and on the surface.

Our Protect service is applied after the Disinfect service and can protect a wide variety of surfaces for up to 90 days. It is a revolutionary surface coating treatment in which its EPA-registered antimicrobial active ingredient is a proprietary silane-based molecule that effectively ruptures the cell membranes of surface-damaging bacteria, fungi, and mold.

It is approved by governments of many foreign countries as a long-term disinfectant (China, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea, and Thailand).

No product, process, or service can guarantee 100% protection. While the treatments provided by A Safer Surface provide a very high level of protection, they are not 100% and cannot persist at the level of the original application. The treatments provide a strong base that, when combined with standard cleaning efforts, can help maintain a safer environment.

Yes. The electrostatic treatment is able to apply a very fine mist of disinfectant to electronics, however, we recommend electronics are turned off until the disinfectant has dried. To avoid curling or discoloration of paper, these products should be removed prior to treatment. If needed, we can specially treat items of concern.

We can schedule the service around your needs — early morning, evening, lunchtime, or weekends — for the best opportunity to disinfect your surfaces properly. Please be mindful that the Disinfect service takes about 10-20 minutes to dry and the Protect service adds another 30-60 minutes.

Yes, but to be extra careful, we always test on an inconspicuous location first.

Ensure the surfaces are well cleaned so the materials are able to reach the base surface uninhibited. All spaces to be treated must be unlocked, open, and accessible. Remove or put away paper products and foodservice items. Turn off electronic devices that will be disinfected.

Yes! The disinfectant used by A Safer Surface is certified by the National Science Foundation (NSF) as being able to treat food surfaces without having to be rinsed or wiped off before use.

About A Safer Surface Certification

A Safer Service certification demonstrates to your employees, customers, vendors, and business partners that your business is proactive in maintaining a safer environment. To qualify for the certification, the business must (1) use the disinfectant treatment on all required public-facing, high-touch surfaces like door handles, bathrooms, appropriate furniture, etc., (2) be committed to a regular treatment schedule to maintain the disinfected surfaces, and (3) utilize the professional services of A Safer Surface.

Anyone can get their environment certified by implementing a recommended treatment plan.

A Safer Surface can certify your disinfected surfaces for the duration of the treatment you select. Therefore, a single Disinfect service cannot be certified, while a single Protect treatment would only be certified for 90 days.
